Charity Auction
Raising Funds to support the families impacted by the Coach Crash in our locality Minehead Middle School Families and Staff
On 17th July, many of you wil be aware via national news outlets , that our local community was rocked by the events involving the crash of a coach carrying pupils and staff from Minehead Middle School retruning from a school trip to Exmoor Zoo.
All of us at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club were shocked and deeply saddened by the heartbreaking events that have impacted our community, especially the young lives and families affected.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to everyone touched by this tragedy, including the pupils, staff, and families of Minehead Middle School.
We continue to stand with our community as they recover from this dreadful accident.
Having hosted the South West Counties Golf Associatuib Seniors Championship that concluded on the day of the accident, we have been generously offered many items from Golf Clubs in the South West and beyond and support from other friends of the Club.
In order to raise valuable funds to support those affected by this awful event, we will be running a Chairty Auction with all proceeds going to support the families through Minhead Middle School.
A huge thank you to everyone that has donated and bid to date. We were delighted to present an intial cheque for £2,500 to Laura Mackie, Headteacher of Minehead Middle School on 23rd January 2026. It was great to hear of the work the school and the wider community is doing to support families and chidren of this tragic event.
We will now re-open the Auction for bids on the reminaing tiems to raise further funds for this important local cause,
