Open Competition Results
At Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club we have many varied open competitions, in a variety of formats, all through the year commencing with our Open Week in March.
We never have temporary greens which means you can enjoy this great course all year round. You will always be made very welcome.
This is a great opportunity to play Somerset's Oldest Links in a competitive yet fun format with friends in great value events.

2024 Buchanan Cup
Our Annual WInter 4BBB Matchplay event, now in its 51st year was as hard fought as ever. With fortnightly matches from the beginning of October and suported by Members of Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club and visiting Golfers alike, the pairs were keen to get thier name on the presigious trophy that has been held aloft by former Ryder Cup players and European Tour winnersin the past.
This years final was fought between home pair Criag Sully and Gavin Paviour against Gary Wide and Daniel Barnes (Vivary Park). Both pairs competiing in their first final.
Some fine golf was played with Gary and Daniel gaining an early lead and holding on to be 4&3 victors.
The 3rd / 4th place playoff was held betwen home paris, Bob Arthington and Criag Walsh who edged W. John Perkins and Peter Young narrowly with a one up win.
The Plate competition for 1st round losing pairs was won by Paul Fullbrook and David Farmer who played some steady golf to beat Nick Baker and Elliott Binding 4&2.
The 2025 event is now opne for entry, please book early to avoid disappointment in one of our most popular and great value Open events.
